Edmonton's Eight Minute Date

It can be difficult to meet new people these days. Many of us work long hours and don't have the opportunity to socialize as much as we'd like. Many people don't like the bar scene either. Where do you go?

Well, Eight Minute Date offers you an alternative. We arrange a night where you will meet 6 to 10 people of the opposite sex within your age range. You'll meet each person one-on-one for an 8-minute date. After meeting and chatting, you'll be asked to mark on a card if you would be interested in seeing that person again. If both of you mark "yes", then a match is made and you will be notified within 48 hours. The rest is up to you!

When you arrive, you will check in and we will try to make you feel at home – including putting a drink in your hand.

Who is it for?

Eight Minute Date is for single people, from 18 – 65 years old, who are looking to find that "someone special".

Why should I try it?

Anyone who has tried internet dating or personal ads knows the challenges. First, you have to find someone who appeals to you. Then you hope that the picture you sent in doesn't turn them off. If you make it past that hurdle, then you have to spend endless hours writing witty e-mails to keep interest up. Eventually, when you've both decided it's safe, you meet on the phone — a place where wit and comfort often come easy. Finally, that first date! Things are going to be great! You're sure you've made a real connection with this person. They're funny, smart, cute — it's got to be great ... right? We've all been there: though the person sitting across from you is most likely very nice, there just isn't any chemistry and this is not what you had envisioned. You knew it within the first five minutes.

That's the beauty of Eight Minute Date. You get a chance to meet 6 to 10 people in one evening and see if any sparks fly. How long has it been since you met that many eligible people of the opposite sex in one night? Not too many of us have. Well, here's your chance. Ask yourself: "What do I have to lose?" "What might I gain?"

Anything you want! But, just in case you're not a great conversationalist, we'll give you a list of suggested topics to help break the ice.

The cost is $40.00 (cash at the event or by pay pal prior to the event). At the end of the event, a social will be held, with appetizers will be provided complements of Eight Minute Date. The cost is only $35 if you pre-pay through Pay Pal!

The cost is $40-50.00 (cash) for special events like our, Animal Attractions events, BBQ steak Dinner speed dating Events.

If you prefer we also have a Pay Pal option on our Upcoming Event Page. All major credit cards are accepted and this will guarantee your spot for that event. Please remember we only accept cash at our events. Please note space is limited in each age group and by using pay pal your spot is guaranteed.

Once you pay by Pay Pal and register for an event we do not offer refunds if you cannot attend. It is very important that you keep your commitment to attend an event as events are only successful if all persons registered attend!

IMPORTANT Policy!

You will then receive a email 5 days prior to the event, which you must reply to and confirm your spot. We will accept confirmation up until 2 days prior to the event. If you do not confirm within this time frame you will not have a spot at the event.

If you do confirm and do not send us a cancellation email or call us, you will then be charged an additional $10 if you register for a future event.

We will also send you out a reminder to attend email/ phone call one day prior to the event. If you pay by pay pal your spot is guaranteed.

How do I register?

It's easy! Take a look at our Upcoming Events, then fill out and send the form on our registration page. Or, send us an e-mail or call (780) 457-8535 between 9:00am and 9:00pm, to register for an event.

Make sure you include your first and last names, your e-mail address (if you have one), your phone number, your gender and your age, and the age group, date and location of the event you wish to attend. We'll e-mail you a confirmation notice approximately 5 days prior to the date of the event which you must respond to. You will then receive a reminder to attend email 1 day prior to the event
